76 and sunny!  That’s Friday’s forecast and I can’t think of more ideal conditions for the 7th Annual South Lake Union Block Party.

The fun begins at noon and goes all the way until 11:00 p.m.

Organizers tell me they are expecting more than 7,500 people to attend.

The event is free and open to the public (thanks to the generousness of presenting sponsor and neighbor Amazon.com).

Here’s what’s on tap:

•Whole Foods Market Burger Grilling Competition – Brave Horse Tavern, Lunchbox Laboratory, Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar (defending champion), Whole Foods Market and FareStart competing.

•Soul Wine hosting wine tasting in the Discovery center (4-8 pm) pouring wines from some of the many small, independent wineries around the world. $15 entry which includes eight one-ounce pours. Proceeds benefit FareStart and Youthcare.

•Pyramid Breweries Beer Garden with Pyramid Hefeweisen, Curveball and Deschutes Black Porter on tap.

•Food vendors like 13 Coins, Buca di Beppo, Cuoco, Dahlia Workshop, Lunchbox Laboratory, Mad Pizza, Paddy Coyne’s, Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria, Venik Lounge and Whole Foods Market.

•Food trucks rolling in include Dante’s Inferno Dogs, Kaosamai Thai Truck, Lumpia World, Maximus/Minimus, Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream, Pai’s Food & Catering, Street Treats,

Where Ya At Matt and more!

The SLU Block Party will be capped off with Cinema on the Lawn, showing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (PG-13), beginning 30 minutes after dusk (approx. 9:00 p.m.). This is completely free- just bring your blankets! Details at www.cinemaonthelawn.com.
