In a story straight out of a southern gothic novel,The Beat has uncovered a conspiracy of silence regarding the true and sordid details of the infamous August,2010 home invasion robbery on “bucolic”Vashon Island. True to its reputation as a throwback to backwoods tribal loyalties,two major members of the Vashon Island media are withholding the truth from the public they supposedly serve,information that would surely shake the island’s trust in the information these people currently peddle.
Full disclosure from us at the Beat is that we’ve known the details for some time and have somewhat-agonized over how to present this story. A member of our staff worked at a Vashon newspaper for nearly a year.
