ZOMBIES DRINK FOR A GREAT CAUSE: Fremont Arts Council Named 2011 Beneficiary for Zombie Walk

This Fourth of July weekend, thousands of Seattle’s undead return to feed on brains and representing their Emerald City by shuffling their back into the history books to reclaim the Guinness World Record for “Largest Gathering of Zombies.” New Jersey currently holds the official record with 4,093 Zombies set back in October 2010. So get your costumes out, get ready to sport that fake blood and grab a few friends for this unique block party located in the “Dead Center of the Universe” for this huge costumed affair.

This year, organizers of the Zombie walk are offering a few new options to discourage Zombies to eat bystanders and chomp on mobile food and satisfy their thirst with two beer gardens and a live music concert to Seattle’s biggest 4th of July party to add to the already unique display of undead festivities. So why beer gardens, when Zombies just want to walk in search of brains?

This year, Zombies can shamble, dance and drink their way into the history books for an amazing charity  that can raise up to $10,000 for the organizers of the beloved Fremont Solstice Parade that takes place at the Fremont Fair by the Fremont Arts Council annually, among other great programs.

Event Organizer, Ryan Reiter talks about the plans for this year’s additions and why it offers more than just another beer garden, but rather an opportunity to celebrate one of Seattle’s greatest neighborhoods and local non-profits in Seattle, the Fremont Arts Council.

Reiter mentions “My family has been deeply involved in Fremont for over 20 years from the Fremont Sunday Market and popular outdoor movies series and now the Red, White and Dead continues to keep Fremont bustling.

Reiter further adds that the Fremont Arts Council’s creative pioneering, energy and community celebration continues to keep Fremont still crazy after all these years and the prefect compliment to supporting local community organizations.

So, how does it work? Entrance is free upon admission and with every beer you drink, every single dollar spent in the beer gardens goes directly back into their pockets, now that’s Zombies doing some good in their hood to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend! It’s that simple and easy! Celebrate your inner Zombie and raise a glass in the name of world history and charity!
