Builder of lab space acquires full block in South Lake Union

A vacant block in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood where a dry cleaner and auto repair shop once operated likely will be home to lab and office space.

BioMed Realty Trust Inc., paid $16.2 million for a the 1.4-acre property, according to a deed that King County posted Wednesday. The acquisition is not a surprise. Three years ago a BioMed spokesman said his company had an agreement to buy the property.
