Eastlake Community Council Newsletter Oct 2016

The Eastlake Community Council alerts you to the following neighborhood events and involvement opportunities.

ECC forum on parking issues in Eastlake; and kickoff for the Eastlake parking survey Tues., Oct. 18 at Pocock Rowing Center, 7-9 p.m.  Join your neighbors at this public forum to discuss Eastlake’s worsening parking situation; and please volunteer (info@eastlakeseattl.org) to help with the survey that will kick off that day!  Eastlake needs a neighborhood-wide parking utilization survey because the City refuses to do one while adopting many policies that reduce the parking available on the street and in new buildings.

ECC Fall Celebration-

Thurs., Oct. 20  5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Top Deck Lounge at Eastlake Bar and Grill (2947 Eastlake Avenue East, http://eastlakebarandgrill.com)  Special prices beyond the usual happy hour!  Have fun and meet your neighbors at the Eastlake Community Council’s twice-annual celebration

Pledges of volunteer hours needed for off-leash area improvement grant.  The Colonnade planning process has identified improvements needed in the off-leash area to install a more paws-friendly surface, install lighting, prune shrubs and branches, create larger yards, improve signage, provide running water, add dog-themed art, and create an agility course, dog playground, and small/shy dog area.  Urgently needed is your pledge of at least two and preferably four or more volunteer hours to attend public meetings, workshops, or work parties to plan and realize these changes.  To be valid, your pledge must list a street address.  Redeemed only if we get the grant, your pledge helps ECC qualify for the needed matching funds.   We also need volunteers to help put together the grant application.  Please send your pledge or questions to info@eastlakeseattle.org or call 206-322-5463.
