Construction date set for UW Medicine’s latest lab in South Lake Union

Vulcan Real Estate is moving forward the the UW Medicine 3.2 project in Seattle's South Lake Union area. It will be the sixth building on the campus, where more than 600 scientists work on issues ranging from diabetes to heart regeneration.

The University of Washington’s medical research campus in Seattle’s South Lake Union area is growing again, this time with a project called UW Medicine 3.2.

Construction of the eight-story lab at 500 Dexter Ave. N., will start in June and be done in two years, according to Lori Mason Curran, an executive with Vulcan Real Estate, which is developing the $143 million project that the UW is financing through the sale of bonds.
