Man suffers head injury at South Lake Union construction site

A man working at a South Lake Union construction site suffered a facial injury Wednesday afternoon at the same site where a man fell and died from his injuries on Monday.

Medics took a man in his 30s to Harborview Medical Center in satisfactory condition about 2:30 p.m. after a portion of a four-inch-diameter grinder blade struck him in the cheek, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

The accident occurred at 101 Taylor Avenue North, the same address where medics were called to a 50-foot fall that ultimately killed a 35-year-old man.

The injuries suffered by the construction worker Wednesday were not considered life-threatening.

A 10-story, high-end apartment building is under construction at that location, known as The Century. Property developers indicate that units are to be available for pre-lease in the spring.
