Lake Union Family 4th Fireworks Schedule Announced!

Lake Union really is! the center of the universe every July 4! We’ve received this note from the folks at onereel.org…who’ve encouraged us to send you to their website onereel.org for all the details!

A Seattle Tradition for Nearly 25 Years

Since 1988, the Family 4th at Lake Union has been about uniting our community on our nation’s birthday for a unique day of commemoration, and this year the party just got bigger! This year’s event includes several exciting new features encouraging revelers to enjoy attractions around the entirety of Lake Union on Independence Day. One Reel, the non-profit producer of the Family 4th, has collaborated with The Center for Wooden Boats and future South Lake Union resident Museum Of History & Industry (MOHAI) to link their event with another favorite summer tradition, the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival. With live music in both Gas Works Park and Lake Union Park, and a broadcast of the National Anthem and synchronized fireworks soundtrack in both Gas Works and Lake Union Parks, the lake becomes THE place to be on the 4th of July!

Please join us at either Gas Works Park beginning at noon or Lake Union Park beginning at 10 AM, park your blanket to reserve your spot, then enjoy the day-long celebration around the lake before the fireworks that evening. Don’t forget your walking shoes to take the 6-mile, 15-question Cheshiahud Challenge, a walking history trivia game designed by MOHAI. It will keep your body and mind working throughout the day, and you’ll get to know your lakeside neighborhoods just a little bit better.
